The Thverá is the lower part of the Thvera/Kjarra river and originates in the north-western highlands of Iceland. Thvera has all the qualities that make Icelandic rivers unique in the world of salmon fishing. Crystal clear water and an endless variety of pools alongside luscious fields and fertile farmland.
The Kjarrá river is the upper part of the Thverá/Kjarrá river. It is characterized by its remoteness and untouched nature. The river varies greatly in character, from steep canyon pools with challenging fly water to the more easily accessible pools in the Kjarrá valley.
The Vídidalsá river, and its tributary Fitjá, is one of Iceland’s best known and most sought after salmon rivers, where numerous salmon over 20 pounds are landed every summer and over 1.000 salmon total in the best years. It also offers excellent char fishing.
The Flókadalsá in West-Iceland is fished with only three rods and has some of the best average catches per rod of any Icelandic salmon river. The water is crystal clear and the river flows down a lush and very private valley where access to around 60 marked pools and fishing spots in over 17 km is very good.
