Vididalsa II

Víðidalsá II, the well known char and trout beat, is the lowest part of Víðidalsá. This productive beat has been popular with anglers for decades but all the fish that enter Víðidalsá and the Fitjá tributary pass through it, sea-run char, salmon and trout.

The fishing spots are diverse, from good salmon fishing pools at the top of the area, to beautiful runs and flats that almost feel made for fly-fishing. Most of the fishing spots are accessible by four-wheel drive vehicles.

Fishing is permitted with three rods and fly-fishing only. Víðidalsá II is usually fished in two-day shifts and for up to 12 hours a day, from 7 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 10 pm. After August 15, the second shift is from 3 pm to 9 pm. If desired, anglers can order catering services and reserve fishing guides.
