Brennan

Brennan is where the Thverá River merges with the Hvítá River in the west of Iceland. Every year, about 250 to 400 salmon are caught on Brenna, in addition to an abundance of sea trout, which makes the beat one of the best junction pools in Iceland.
Brenna, a 2 km long beat with eight marked fishing spots, is fished by three rods and the fish hold where the freshwater and glacial waters merge. When the salmon run reaches its peak in July, there is often great action on Brenna, and then the number of seatrout increases as the summer progresses. In August and September, the sea trout fishing is often very good and hundreds of fish are caught. Brennan is a popular fishing beat for families and smaller groups alike.
Fishing permits are sold for two days at a time and fishing is permitted for up to 12 hours a day. Anglers are welcome to the lodge at 3 pm on the first day of fishing. On the last day fishing is allowed until noon but anglers are asked to leave no later than at 1pm.

Brennan Lodge

At the Brenna there are two newly renovated and well-equipped self-catering fishing lodges close to the river. Both lodges have four bedrooms with two beds. The newer house has a spacious and comfortable lounge with a newly renovated kitchen, a nice terrace, a hot tub and a barbecue.
The lodge is serviced at all times with made-up beds and cleaning of the cottage upon departure. Fishing guides and a cook can be arranged if desired. Anglers are asked to familiarise themselves with all house and fishing rules before arrival.
